Our Partnership
Second Bloom works with hospice organizations in the Monterey Bay Region to provide bedside arrangements at no cost to hospice patients. This simple act of kindness is meant to share love and support to members of our community during life’s most difficult time.
What is Hospice?
Hospice is a way of caring for those that are terminally ill. In the United States Hospice is recognized and covered by most insurance companies as a humane way to treat patients at the end of life. Hospice offers palliative care for their patients and also recognizes the strain of a terminal illness on the entire family. Hospice will provide nurses, spiritual advisors and volunteers to ease the pain of the terminally ill and their families. Hospice attends to the needs of their clients at their place of residence be it an individual home or a senior living residence. At Second Bloom we recognize the noble effort that hospice employees put forth each day to brighten the days of individuals at the end of their lives. Our bedside arrangements (provided at no cost to local hospice organizations) are an attempt to share the joy of flowers and nature with a patient and their families at a most difficult time in their lives. Second Bloom currently supplies multiple local Hospice agencies with bedside arrangements for their patients.
Current Hospice Partners:
Heartland provides care wherever you call home– whether that be in your house, a skilled nursing center or an independent/assisted living facility. Caregivers help create individualized care plans, set personal goals and manage pain. Second bloom delivers flowers to these caregivers to bring to patients as they make their routine visits.
Second Bloom provides VNA with beside arrangements that are delivered by the VNA staff during their patient visits. VNA & Hospice is a local charitable organization providing skilled home health care and community services to the local residents of the Central Coast,
Hospice of Santa Cruz has been providing palliative and hospice services to individuals of all ages in Santa Cruz County since 1978. Second Bloom brings bedside arrangements weekly to both the Scotts Valley and Watsonville Hospice of Santa Cruz facilities where the staff then picks up the flowers to share with patients during their visits.
